The DM8 Pro kit is an excellent value, considering competing electronic kits tend to go for around triple what I paid for this. The kit out of the box was pretty good, although the pads are a bit stiff and will hurt your hands after extended play. There are conversion kits around that allow you to put mesh heads on. I did the conversion and now this kit is a serious competitor to any Roland or Yamaha set. You can add up to 4 additional single-zone pads by splitting the 2 dual-zone aux inputs (although you wiill lose the third zone on the included ride), giving you quite a bit of expandability. Overall I cannot get over the price I paid for this, honestly, this entire kit is excellent quality for the price, which is less than the price of just a comparable Roland module! Excellent kit, highly recommended!
